ARMA Bryan/College Station

Practice Times and Contact Information

At this point in time we are practicing every Saturday, from 10:00am to 12:00pm.  We regularly meet at Wolf Pen Creek Park.

Classes will deal primarily with Longsword, however, there will be a significant amount of work done on the Dagger, and every second Saturday of  the month is dedicated as "Single Sword Day" (Working with Rapier, Cut &Thrust, and Arming swords).  Other weapons will be worked into the schedule in the future.

For this semester we will be working out of  Sigmund Ringeck's Knightly Art of the Longsword for the Longsword sections of the class.  On "Single Sword Night" we will be working out of Pallas Armata.

 Participation and Membership:

ARMA members are invited and encouraged to attend practice as often as possible.  Non-members may attend practice 3 times to try it out, after which they will be asked to file an application for  ARMA membership.  Should they not file for membership or not be accepted for whatever reason, the individual will be asked not to attend further practices.  Non-members will be asked to wear a pocketless  white shirt and black pants to practice, while members should wear a red shirt with black pants.  This is our designated uniform.

We will attempt to provide gear for those that are just beginning their studies in Renaissance Martial Arts (RMA) on a "you break it you buy it" policy, but members will be highly encouraged to procure their own equipment.

Due to the limited amount of equipment that is available, and the tentative nature of our schedule it is recommended that those interested in attending contact Sal Bertucci at sal_bertuci@neo.tamu.edu so that proper accommodations can be made.

 Other news:

We are in the process of applying to be a University approved club.  This will give us many benefits, not the least of which is an indoor place to train.  If that happened we might need to have additional dues for the club, but they will be kept at a minimum.
